Are you looking for a life-changing experience that goes beyond traditional tourism? In the hidden corners of the Huánuco region lies a place where the dense green of the Amazon Rainforest meets a unique cultural history. Welcome to Codo del Pozuzo, the home of Semillas Life, where your skills can help protect one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Why Choose Codo Del Pozuzo, Puerto Inca, Huánuco for Your Volunteer Journey?

Most travelers head to Cusco or Iquitos, but the province of Puerto Inca remains one of Peru's best-kept secrets. Volunteering here means stepping off the beaten path and into a community where Austro-German traditions and indigenous Kakataibo culture blend seamlessly.

At Semillas Life, we believe that sustainable conservation only works when it involves the community. That is why our volunteer programs are designed to create a bridge between international support and local empowerment.

Our Impact Programs: How You Can Help

1. Wildlife Conservation & Research

Join our Wildlife Conservation Internship in the Codo del Pozuzo Nature Reserve. From setting up camera traps to monitor elusive mammals like jaguars and tapirs, to conducting avian surveys at dawn, you will gain hands-on experience in field biology. We use cutting-edge tools like iNaturalist to contribute to global scientific databases.

2. Environmental & English Education

Education is the seed of change. Our Kids Explorer Program teaches local children the importance of their natural heritage. As a volunteer, you will lead English workshops and environmental classes, helping youth in Puerto Inca develop the skills needed for a sustainable future.

3. Community & Cultural Immersion

Codo del Pozuzo is famous for its unique heritage. You’ll have the chance to participate in community clean-ups, learn ancestral dyeing techniques from the Kakataibo people, and even witness traditional folk dances like the Lustigen Jungen.

Life in the Rainforest: Adventure Awaits

Volunteering with Semillas Life isn't just about work; it’s about reconnecting with nature. Imagine:

  • Weekends on the Pachitea River: Spend your free time fishing or boat riding on one of the Amazon's vital waterways.

  • Jungle Camping: Trek into the primary forest to sleep under a canopy of stars.

  • Authentic Social Life: Enjoy a local craft beer with fellow volunteers in our welcoming village.
