Through our NGO Management Internship in the Peruvian Amazon, we offer aspiring leaders, undergraduates, postgraduates, and career-changers hands-on experience in running an international non-profit in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. 

What Interns Gain: Hands-On Experience in Non-Profit Operations

The Semillas Life NGO Management Internship is designed for individuals passionate about sustainable development and non-profit administration. Interns work directly alongside experienced professionals, gaining real-world skills in managing educational, environmental, and community projects:  

• Educational Project Supervision: Oversee local English language classes, guide volunteer teaching staff, help develop examination materials, and coordinate our Kids Explorer Program (Scouts), organizing reforestation projects and Amazon rainforest excursions.  

• Financial Management & Accounting: Gain practical experience in non-profit financial accounting, tracking spreadsheet metrics, and evaluating operational performance and financial reporting.  

• Strategic Partnerships & Outreach: Reach out to international universities, academic faculties, and global NGOs to establish study-abroad programs, faculty-led research initiatives, and long-term institutional partnerships.  

• Project Monitoring, Evaluation & Data Analysis: Design and conduct community surveys, gather field data, analyze social impact, and draft evaluation reports for current and future project sponsors.  

• Social Media & Digital Content Strategy: Document weekly project activities, capture high-quality photos and videos, and design engaging content for our website and social platforms.

Language Immersion & Cultural Connection

Living in Codo del Pozuzo or Puerto Inca offer interns an authentic cultural exchange. The region features extraordinary cultural diversity, home to native indigenous nations (Asháninka, Yánesha, Shipibo, Kakataibo) as well as unique historic Austro-German settlements.  

To support professional and personal integration, Semillas Life NGO includes 4 hours of weekly Spanish language lessons taught by a dedicated instructor to help interns build business and conversational fluency.  

After completing a rewarding work week (Monday to Friday), interns explore the rainforest through our Week of Adventure Package (for stays of 3+ weeks), which includes guided jungle treks, waterfall swimming, wildlife observation, and camping under the Amazonian canopy.  

Program Inclusions, Logistics & Financial Transparency

As a non-profit organization, Semillas Life NGO operates transparently to keep placements accessible while directly funding community projects. Financial contributions from interns directly pay local staff, cover project materials, and sustain community operations.  

What Your Placement Covers:

• Overland Airport Transfers: Pick-up and drop-off from Pucallpa Airport/Bus Station to Codo del Pozuzo (~5-hour journey).  

• Accommodation & Utilities: Stay in traditional wooden cabins (shared or private rooms) with beds, mosquito nets, 24/7 Wi-Fi, hammocks, and access to a fully equipped kitchen.  

• Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided Monday through Friday (vegetarian options available).  

• Spanish Classes: 4 hours of language instruction per week.  

• Guided Rainforest Trips: Full access to guided weekend excursions, camping gear, and local transportation during trips.
